The Center for Writing Studies is an interdisciplinary program that offers a concentration in Writing Studies at the PhD level. Since 1990, graduate students from the Department of English, the College of Education, the Department of Communication, and the Division of English as an International Language have participated in the program at both the doctoral and master's degree levels.

The Center for Writing Studies does not offer a concentration at the MA level. However, the following departments offer related specializations: MATESL and English.
