The Center for Writing Studies is pleased to announce that two members of our community, Antonio Hamilton and Carolyn Wisniewski, have received awards from the International Writing Centers Association.
Antonio Hamilton has won the 2025 Future Leaders Award, which recognizes graduate scholars who demonstrate strong leadership skills in writing center studies. Antonio joins CWS alumns Meng-Hsien (Neal) Liu, who won the Future Leaders Award in 2023, and María Paz Carvajal Regidor, who won it in 2019.
Carolyn Wisnewski has won the 2025 Outstanding Article Award, given annually in recognition of significant work within the field of writing center studies. You can read Carolyn's winning work, "Generous Audience, Activist, Evaluator: Tutor-Teachers' Knowledge, Practices, and Values for Response to Writing," in the Journal of Response to Writing. CWS alumns Allison A. Kranek and María Paz Carvajal Regidor won this award in 2022 for their “It’s Crowded in Here: ‘Present Others’ in Advanced Graduate Writers’ Sessions.”
Please congratulate Antonio and Carolyn!
